this paper is about how shadow leaves contribute to GPP.

Mingzhu He, Weimin Ju and etc. Development of a two-leaf light use efficiency model for improving the calculation of terrestrial gross primary productivity. Agricultural and Forest Meteorology 173 (2013) 28– 39.

modeled results have very good relationship with measured one.

but compared with MODIS model, the improvement of the two leaf model is not super obvious. However, I think the proposal of sunlit leaf and shadow leaf is very important.

the original reason why I read this paper is that I want to use equation in this paper to model diffuse PAR data. Although I dont agree this function in theory. But the modeling results are much much better than I expected.
